Impact of giving
A message from the Advancement Office
Since joining UOIT one of the things that continues to amaze me is the incredible generosity of our donors and the endless opportunities they give to our students. This generosity makes an impact on our students each and every day and helps the university grow, even in this challenging economic climate.
As we move towards building a strong economy and sustainable future, our donors have a significant role in helping us reach this goal. It is our donors who help us create much needed scholarships and bursaries that provide new opportunities for students; deliver state-of-the-art equipment and other technology that ensures graduates have the very latest in skills; donate towards construction of award-winning academic buildings; contribute to the research and development of new knowledge through projects on campus including the solar car, EcoCar Challenge, and electric bus; and in other ways that are essential to the university's continued success.
You may have noticed while driving along Simcoe Street or Conlin Road the 10-storey crane hovering over a construction site on our vibrant campus. We are building a world-class research, design and training centre focused on the next-generation automobile industry. The Automotive Centre of Excellence (ACE-Global), will design the cars of tomorrow - clean, green and viable. Soon you will also see us break ground for our new Energy Systems and Nuclear Science Research Centre that will house UOIT's unique-in-Canada programs, including courses in wind, solar, hydrogen, hydraulic, nuclear and geothermal energy.
We are very excited about these new developments on campus. With your help we will continue to look towards the future and develop programs that will provide our students with a leading-edge education and make sure our graduates have the real-world and high-tech skills to meet the new economy and ensure Canada's place as a global leader.
Visit us soon and see for yourself all of the exciting things we have taking place on campus!
Warm regards,
